Anne from Kinderbooks is my go-to children’s literature consultant. Yes, I do call her that over "book seller” because she truly has the most carefully curated selection of children’s books, and I can always rely on her to replenish my classroom’s shelves with quality literature. Kinderbooks only offers books with writing and art that enriches early childhood language and literature experiences, and I love that Anne carries culturally and politically relevant books. From the Rebel Girls series to Indigenous and First Nations selections, I can always count on Kinderbooks for amazing resources and support for my preschool classroom, or my children’s yoga classes. Kinderbooks is less about the books than it is about Anne. SHE IS WONDERFUL! (She even drove 45mins to hand deliver one of my orders!) Working with Anne to plan and implement a fundraising initiative for our Me to We Team was nothing short of fantastic! She met with the leadership students to share ideas, talk about the various water bottle products and get them involved. Our goal was to promote reconciliation awareness through our sales event and the First Nations Art on the products. The water bottle sales exceeded our expectations and the money raised was used to promote future leadership events in our school. Anne ran a book sale fundraiser at Ecole Moody Middle School of the Arts this June. Her selection of books for middle school readers was both thoughtful and unique. Many students showed interest in both the books and the aboriginal art pieces (water bottles, magnets, bookmarks etc) that she brought as part of her collection. We would love to have Anne and Kinder Books back to do another event!
