From July 1–31, 2026, Kinder Books is thrilled to host Bienvenida Frida, a stunning art exhibition by celebrated New Westminster visual artist Clarissa Banos.

A Tribute to a Legend

Bienvenida Frida is a vibrant dedication to the iconic Mexican painter Frida Kahlo. Clarissa Banos—whose own magnificent work honors the ancestral heritage, brilliant colors, and pre-Hispanic iconography of the Ancient Americas—channels Kahlo’s spirit of resilience, identity, and fierce individuality.

Throughout July, our store will be transformed by Clarissa’s breathtaking paintings. To complement the gallery experience, we are curating a special collection of children's biographies, art histories, and diverse picture books celebrating Frida Kahlo and trailblazing women in the arts.
